In her own words . . .
“I LOVE teaching kindergarten. Each year, I feel as though I have 24 “presents” that have never been opened and I have no clue as to what might be inside. As the year progresses, I get to discover what is inside each child. Their joy and enthusiasm is contagious, and I get the opportunity to see school through their eyes EACH year.”
In the words of others . . .
“Ms. Ripley’s passion for helping children reach their full potential reaches past school art classes to each student’s social and emotional well-being. She collaborates with other teachers regarding students, promoting consistency and support for the children beyond their regular classroom. Her willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ is respected and appreciated by the students, our school staff and our community.”
Sherrie Folger, Nottingham Elementary Assistant Principal
“While many of us faced adversity during Hurricane Harvey, few of us suffered the devastation of losing a home. Mrs. Crump did. For over a year, she has been giving her all to her students and parents and teammates, and all the while . . . piecing her home back together. While there was heartbreak and obstacles, she never let it interfere with her role of growing children. One afternoon, she joked how this will delay her retirement. ‘You’re stuck with me a little longer,’ she laughed. I smiled and said, ‘Well, there’s the silver lining!”
